Feast of the Assumption – Gyimesbükk
August 15, 2027

The Church of the Assumption at Kontumác in Gyimesbükk, near the thousand-year-old border – the mother church of the Gyimes valley, founded by the Franciscans of Csíksomlyó in 1782 – has become a popular pilgrimage site in recent years. The feast is preceded by a novena of the Assumption from 5 to 14 August and three days of Eucharistic adoration. In 2027, 15 August falls on a Sunday.
The date is for guidance only; the exact programme is published by the local parish. For more feasts of the church year, see our article Pilgrimages and Feasts in Székely Land .
