St Emeric's Church – Gelence
The church, built in the 13th century, displays features of several architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Its 14th–15th-century murals of the St Ladislaus legend, showing his battle against the Cumans, are among the best-preserved frescoes in Transylvania. Among the church's oldest and most valuable features are its centuries-old baptismal font and its uniquely painted coffered ceiling of 103 panels, some of which date from 1629.
